Valley Bike Tour

Easy cycling tour for the whole family. 20 km tour of the entire Ruhpolding Valley, with short, but not at all difficult climbs along the way.

Tour Description

From our starting point at the Ecklbrücke/speedway stadium, we make our way down the road passing to the left of the tennis centre, keeping next to the Traun river. After about 1 km, take a left under the railway line and, after making a series of zigzags, take another left towards the main road. Cross this and head towards the Steinberg-Alm - Brand then, after around 200 m, take a right towards Obergschwendt.

Passing beautiful farmhouses – with wonderful views of Ruhpolding – you will cycle steadily downhill to the Steinberg Alm Road. Follow the signs to Maiergschwendt. After Maiergschwendt, leave the paved road to the right, passing the marble quarry and continuing to Hasslberg. Now, downhill once more, passing between farmhouses, into the Brandertal Valley. We will next tackle a short climb to the Fairy-Tale Park. On via the villages of Bärngschwendt, Guglberg and Gstatt to Fuchsau. After crossing the Seehauser Strasse, take a right on the cycle path to Fritz am Sand. Then cross the old railway bridge, making a sharp left in the direction of Taubensee.

After a short stretch through the forest, take a left onto the Alpenstrasse road. After about 300 m, leave this road to the right, continuing past the campground and through the golf course to St. Valentin’s Church. From here, return to our original starting point.
