Winter in Ruhpolding

Ruhpolding is a “cross-country mecca” with a network of superbly groomed trails extending out for more than 60 km, guaranteed to set everyone’s pulse racing with excitement, no matter whether they are an absolute beginner or a high-performance athlete.

Our four ski areas may be small, but they are precious gems where everyone - from our little ski munchkins to absolute pros - can find a slope that is ideally suited to them.  And with our perfectly trained ski instructors, your whole family is in the best of hands.  Which makes learning to ski and snowboard absolute child’s play!  And for those who simply never get their fill of skiing, we even light up the slopes on the Unternberg and Westernberg after dark.

Even without skis clamped to their feet, our guests still find themselves in the midst of Ruhpolding’s boundless wintertime fun. Passionate walkers can take full advantage of a 50 km-long network of cleared winter hiking paths through untouched countryside, while a sledding adventure along the natural toboggan run from the Raffner Alm all the way to the valley below, is a high-spirited adventure for the whole family

As spectators at international winter sporting events, visitors to Ruhpolding can rub shoulders with stars from around the world. Every year, in front of thousands of spectators, Ruhpolding hosts the Biathlon World Cup, transforming this idyllic village into a mecca for fans from far and wide.
But Ruhpolding also offers a great selection of indoor activities as well.  There is the big ice arena, for example,  with its modern climbing wall, the indoor tennis centre with 4 courts and courses for all age and ability levels, the indoor riding arena, the Woodcutters Museum and much more.
Or simply enjoy a relaxing day at the “VITA ALPINA” Wave & Wellness Pool, which features an outdoor pool filled with salt water and a spacious sauna facility.
